On Friday, August 26, 2011 a maintenance worker came into our apartment as I was leaving to run a errand to do a repair. Around thirty minutes later I came home to find out that he didn't do the repairs correctly...he ALSO went into our bedroom. Picked up my 9mm Taurus hand gun & then didn't put it back the way it was. Then he stole my Nikon D80!
YES, HE STOLE IT!How do I know he stole it you want to know: Bc I saw it on the shelf the day before & no one but my boyfriend & I have been in our room. The only people that have a key to our place is me, my boyfriend & the apartment complex.
((Before I left the apartment I had closed the door to the bedroom, left the ceiling fan on & turned off the lights. We have a over the door ironing board on our bedroom door. You have to pull the door hard until it clicks shut. To open you have to really turn the door handle hard & it makes one heck of a noise popping open. When I grabbed for the door handle the door opened easily. I walk into the door way & the ceiling fan is off, so I reach over to turn the switch on. When I turn the switch on both the light & ceiling fan come on.))I have put it on the same little shelf in the corner of our bedroom for the past three years. I even moved stuff from around the floor by the shelf, (hoping it fell off the shelf) but of course it wasn't there.
So far the assistant manager said that they will not replace my camera. They said I will have to file it on our homeowners insurance.
WTF?! SERIOUSLY!That will cause our insurance to go up more than what we are paying now. We will have to pay that every year...not just once.
Also, I already paid for the first camera when I bought it in February 2007...but I will be paying for it again. So double the price for the same camera

not cool.
I'm waiting on the detective from the police department to call me back & waiting on the corporate office over our apartment complex to go over the paperwork to figure out what they have to say.
I did manage to find the serial number for my camera through my Flickr account thankfully.
